    Debbie is currently a student at GSU, pursuing her BFA in ceramics, painting and performance studies.  She's a collector of "stuff"-antiques, vintage jewelry, anything that looks interesting or can be repurposed (she promises not to store any of it in the church office).  She loves creative writing, art, and reading, and will need to live another hundred years to finish all her projects.  


    Debbie is married to Jim. They have five children.  Deb identifies herself as a gregarious introvert-loves to hang out and talk to people, because they are so interesting!  But will hide out in a room alone at home to re-energize.  


  • Worship LEADER

    Todd is married to Shaina and has a daughter, Skylar, and a son, Riven. He's lived in Joliet all his life. Todd holds a business degree from the University of Illinois. In addition to serving as Worship Leader, Todd teaches guitar and piano at The Music and Dance Suite in Naperville. Todd enjoys rock climbing, the outdoors, and spending as much time with his family as possible. Todd continues to pursue his lifelong goal of never running a marathon.

    Katie is on a journey with Christ discovering her purpose. She loves working with teenagers and helping them discover that they matter and they are worthy and God has a plan and purpose for them.  Katie was adopted into a wonderful family, She loves traveling and her favorite movie is Moana! 

  • Spiritual formation

    David has been attending JF since birth.  He is a graduate from Olivet Nazarene University where he met his wonderful wife Laura, with whom they now have three daughters.  David is an artist by trade and a wanna-be rock drummer (or singer, or guitar player or bass player - he's not picky folks) in his spare time. He is excited to be taking on a leadership role in the formation of community groups, and can't wait to see what God is going to do next.

    Genie was born and raised overseas as the daughter of missionary parents. Musicians themselves, Genie’s parents instilled in her from a very early age a great love of music. They also raised her to know the importance of serving in the local church.


    Genie attended Wheaton Conservatory of Music. She served as Worship Leader at Joliet First from September 2009 - 2016. She now assists JF ministries in pastoral and administrative duties. Her greatest passions are music and missions.  Genie lives in Shorewood with her husband (Ron) and two children (Aimee & Caleb).

  • PASTOR OF MISSION

    John is the husband of Jill and father to three daughters--Sara, Melissa and Katy. John was a career firefighter/ EMS administrator in Orland Park, IL.  In 2005 John felt called to ministry.  He served as Lead Pastor at Highland First Church of the Nazarene for five years.  John now serves as the Pastor of Mission.  He and his wife have a clear call to work in the mission field, and have been answering that call through overseas missions trips and a variety of work in the local community surrounding Joliet First.

    Tara leads Hope Closet which is a ministry designed to clothe and help those in need.  Every month, HC serves well over a hundred people part of the Joliet community.   Tara is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University and devotes her energy outside of church activities to her husband and two small children. 

  • children'S DIRECTOR

    Laura is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University, a children's librarian by day, children's director by night. She has attended Joliet First Church for over a decade. As part of this church family, she participates in all manner of shenanigans in the children's department. Laura also coaches the Children's Bible Quiz Team. Laura has three young daughters, an amazing husband, and a very fuzzy dog. The spiritual growth of the children is her greatest concern and top priority as children's director.

  • Lead pastor

    Brad is the husband of Janelle and father to Carter and Miles. He is an Ohio native and an avid supporter of THE Ohio State Buckeyes. Brad served in the military for 10 years. He holds degrees from Mount Vernon Nazarene University (BA) and Northwest Nazarene University (MA) with a focus in Missional Leadership.  He enjoys working out, playing hockey with his boys, running, and backpacking . Most influential books--Surprised by Hope by N.T.
